Distance: 10 Miles
Type: easy tracks – canal towpath – some
rocky tracks – walking boots advised – walking poles optional – can be muddy.
Classification: Moderate with numerous refreshment stops.
Walk 2 Details
Mellor Moorend – Mellor Moor
-- Strines – Marple
Distance: 4.5 Miles
Type: rocky tracks / paths which can be
muddy in wet weather - poles optional walking boots advisable.
Classification: Moderate with no long climbs.
Walk 3 Details
Rose Hill Station – Etherow Country Park and around the Park/ Ernocroft Wood – Glossop Road
Distance: 8.25 / 3.75 Miles (options)
Type: Steep in places, some muddy stretches along the further reaches of the park.
The track up through Ernocroft Wood is steep.
Classification: Easy/Moderate
Walk 4 Details
Rose Hill Station – Offerton
– Otterspool – Peak Forest Canal
– Marple Locks and Return
Distance: 7 Miles
Type: Be prepared for steep muddy sections particularly in the woods
around Torkington Brook
Classification: Moderate
